Homemade sangria. Summery, fresh and above all delicious!

Do you also like sangria? I certainly do! The sangria that you buy ready-made is quite okay. But homemade sangria is really tasty!

Welcome to Birgers Kitchen :)

This is what you need:
• 1 bottle of red wine Montepulciano d'Abruzzo - Pasqua (can also be used with white house wine from Pure Flavor)
• 250 ml of water
• cane sugar syrup
• dash of triple sec Dry Curaçao
• fresh fruit (e.g. pieces of apple, orange, grapefruit, pineapple, etc.)
• 2 tablespoons herb and spice mixture for sangria from our spice shop
• Ice cubes in a mold

And this is how you proceed:

The recipe is actually very simple.

1. Pour the bottle of red wine into a jug and add 2 tablespoons of herbs and spices for sangria. Let it steep for at least 2 hours. I let mine steep for about a day.

2. Pour the wine with herbs and spices through a sieve.

3. Now add 250 ml of cold water. Add some liquid cane sugar to taste and stir. Better to do a little less first, then you can still add more.

4. Now add some triple sec to taste (you can also leave this out).

5. Now add fruit cut into small pieces and stir again.

6. Now top up the sangria with ice cubes.

Voila. Finished. cheers!

I am very curious about your creation! Share your homemade sangria on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #BirgersKitchen and inspire others.
