Tomatin
Tomatin – Classic Highland single malt Scotch whisky
Tomatin is a renowned Highland single malt Scotch whisky brand from the Tomatin Distillery in the Scottish Highlands, where whisky has been distilled using traditional techniques since 1897. The distillery is known for its smooth, fruity, and aromatic whiskies matured in a variety of casks—from bourbon to sherry and port—and loved by whisky enthusiasts worldwide.
The story behind Tomatin
Tomatin Distillery is located in the Highlands of Scotland, approximately 20 km south of Inverness and at an altitude of 315 m above sea level—one of the highest whisky production sites in Scotland.
Whisky has been distilled at this site since the 16th century, but the modern distillery was officially established in 1897. After a brief closure in the early 20th century, Tomatin reopened in 1909. Over the years, it grew to become one of the largest malt distilleries in Scotland, producing both blends and single malts for decades.
In 1986, Tomatin was acquired by the Japanese company Takara Shuzo, making it one of the first Scottish distilleries to be owned by Japan — a milestone in whisky history.
