This is the kind of object people keep looking at until they work out what is going on. You see a puddle of red wine on the table with a stream running straight up out of it, all the way to the neck of a bottle. Except nothing has been spilled, nothing is running, and the bottle is usually still sealed.
It is a single piece of high gloss plastic in deep wine red, so dark it reads almost black until the light comes through it. The puddle is the base, the stream curls upward and ends in a small collar. That is where you rest the neck of your bottle. The bottle itself stays lying on the table; the collar lifts the neck just enough to make it look as though the contents are pouring out. The maker calls it Fall in Wine and puts it best: "Is it open yet? No, it just looks like it!"
