Pouring half a litre of olive oil into a bottle you actually like looking at is one of those small things that make cooking more pleasant. The Colorata is made for it: glass, 50 cl, twenty-six centimetres tall and only six wide, so it takes almost no room beside the hob.

The pourer is drip-free. That sounds like a detail until you have owned a bottle without one: here the stream stops where you stop, and nothing runs down the neck. A stopper is included, so the oil is not left open.

There are four designs: Fiorita, Margherita, Arcobaleno and Regina. They reach us mixed, one of each, so which design ends up in your parcel is down to chance. If you have a preference, say so with your order — I will look at what is on the shelf and take it into account.

Add a little flavor and fill it with an oil worth seeing: a green extra virgin looks wonderful through that glass.

A note on care: this bottle is not dishwasher safe. Rinse it with warm water and let it dry thoroughly before refilling.
