Tapenade usually means olives, but this one from Smaakgeheimen is all about tomato. Almost a third sun-dried tomatoes, with fresh tomato and red pepper. This is the 100 g jar, for anyone who wants to really cook with it.

Taste

Intense and sunny: the deep, slightly sweet taste of sun-dried tomato, freshened up with fresh tomato and pepper, with a briny edge from capers. Much lighter than you'd expect, because the base is water and tomato rather than oil.

How I use it

• On bread: on toasted baguette with a basil leaf and a pinch of sea salt.
• Through pasta: a few spoonfuls stirred through hot pasta with a splash of pasta water and Parmesan.
• With drinks: next to mozzarella pearls, olives and breadsticks.
• In the oven: as a marinade for chicken or a thin layer on a white fish fillet.
