AnCnoc

AnCnoc – Elegant and fresh Highland single malt Scotch whisky

anCnoc is a refined Highland single malt Scotch whisky produced at the Knockdhu Distillery in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Known for its light, fruity, and accessible style, the brand combines traditional whisky production methods with a fresh, modern flavor.

The story behind AnCnoc

Although the distillery has been operating since 1894, the name anCnoc was only introduced in 1993–1994 to avoid confusion with the Scottish distillery Knockando. "anCnoc" (pronounced a-nock in Gaelic) means "the hill," a reference to nearby Knock Hill, where pure water is found—essential for whisky production.

Knockdhu Distillery has a long history of producing a lot of whisky for blends, but with the introduction of anCnoc, the brand was put on the map as its own single malt label.

The distillery uses traditional copper pot stills and often uses a mix of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks for maturation. The bottlings are not chill-filtered and contain no added color, which contributes to the pure flavor and fruity elegance of the whiskies.

Why choose anCnoc?

  • Highland single malt with a light, fruity style — ideal for both novice and experienced whisky drinkers.

  • Traditional production with modern flair, where classic methods and contemporary taste merge.

  • Pure spring water from Knock Hill as the basis for a clear and aromatic profile.

  • Maturation in ex-Bourbon and Sherry casks, which provides a balance between fruitiness, vanilla and subtle spices.

anCnoc whiskies are light, refined, and surprisingly complex — an excellent choice for those seeking a harmonious single malt with fruity, citrus, and honey notes.
