Red Door Highland Gin is a handcrafted, small-batch London Dry Gin, distilled in the iconic Peggy copper still. This gin is vapor-infused, a technique in which the vapors of carefully selected botanicals enrich the neutral alcohol with deep aromas and flavors.
At the heart of this gin lies the finest juniper berry, complemented by classic gin ingredients like lemon peel, bitter orange peel, coriander seed, and angelica root. What truly sets Red Door Highland Gin apart are three unique botanicals from Scotland:
- Scottish Pearl Heather: Carefully harvested from the rolling hills, this floral botanical imparts a subtly fragrant, grassy aroma reminiscent of rose petals and chamomile.
- Rowan Berries: Sourced from local forests and valleys, these ruby-red berries have a slightly bitter flavour with notes of chocolate and smoke – essential for the full, bittersweet character of Red Door Gin.
- Sea buckthorn: Harvested from the rugged Scottish coast, this powerfully tart fruit adds a fresh citrus kick, perfectly balanced with the earthy and floral notes.
The resulting gin is complex, silky smooth in the mouthfeel, and offers a long, spicy finish. Bottled at 45% ABV, it's perfect in a classic gin & tonic or as a base for sophisticated cocktails.
Tasting notes:
- On the nose: Fresh citrus, floral heather, light herbs and juniper berries
- On the palate: Depth through the combination of citrus (sea buckthorn, lemon, orange), floral notes (heather), bitters (rowan), herbs and a hint of earthy warmth from angelica
