Sample Eleven SE 8 is made for enthusiasts who appreciate the original Sample Eleven Blended Rum but are looking for more intensity and depth. When new stock is bottled, the team behind Sample Eleven stores a portion of the rum in carefully selected casks to allow the blend to mature further. Once the cask reaches its ideal point, the rum is bottled at a higher alcohol percentage. The result is a more expressive and powerful version of Sample Eleven.

This special edition spent approximately 15 months in a special cask with a long journey behind it. The cask was originally used in the United States for aging bourbon. It then moved to Jamaica, where it aged Worthy Park Rum for over 12 years. Next, it ended up in Gascony, in the south of France, for an experimental aging of 100% Folle Blanche grape distillate from Domaine de Baraillon. Only then was it filled with Sample Eleven Blended Rum.

That rich cask history gives SE 8 its unique character. The full, powerful rum style is complemented by fresh grape notes, subtle wood influences, and an elegant depth. The combination of bourbon, Jamaican rum, and Folle Blanche distillate in the cask history creates a complex flavor profile in which power, fruitiness, and refinement come together beautifully.

Sample Eleven SE 8 was blended and bottled by Kintra Spirits and The Rum Mercenary. A special rum to enjoy neat, but also strong enough to give a premium cocktail extra character.
