Calvados Drouin Pomme Prisonnière is no ordinary calvados. It is the result of an extraordinary process that starts with growing apples in carafes, an original hobby of the Drouin and Alleaume families. Every spring, thousands of decanters are placed in trees by the Alleaume family, experienced tree growers from Gonneville-sur-Honfleur. After four to five months, the ripe apples are harvested, the decanters are cleaned and then filled with the finest Calvados by the Drouin family.

The result? A unique blend where the aromas of the fruit come together perfectly with the rich flavors of the eau-de-vie, resulting in the fruitiest calvados you have ever tasted. Despite more than 30 years of experience, only an average of 40% of the decanters that are hung manage to meet the high standards.

Christian Drouin himself remembers the challenges of the first years, when only 5% of the harvest was a success. But that was enough to persevere, and now enthusiasts all over the world can enjoy this unique and precious drink.
