Herberg
Den Herberg – Brewery from Buizingen with its own beers
Den Herberg is a Belgian craft brewery and café located in Buizingen (Halle), Flemish Brabant, where unique beers have been brewed since 2007 — always with natural ingredients and traditional processing.
The story behind Den Herberg
The story of Den Herberg begins around 1998–2000, when Bart Devillé and Ann Heremans bought the former café and function room De Gouden Lantaarn in Buizingen with the dream of turning it into a brewery. The idea grew out of their own passion for brewing, and friends soon tasted their first experiments.
On February 1, 2007, the café officially opened, and a year later, in 2008, the brewery started selling its first beers — brewed with second-hand equipment and with a lot of manual labor.
Den Herberg currently brews on a facility with a capacity of around 18 hectoliters, producing between 1,500 and 2,000 hectoliters of beer annually. The café and brewery together form a meeting place for beer lovers.
