Make your own almond milk

Make your own almond milk

Almond milk is wonderfully refreshing in the summer. It is not without reason that you can drink delicious “horchata” in Spain, for example, because that is what they call almond milk there.
Making your own almond milk is actually not difficult at all. You don't need much for it.

Ingredients:

• Almonds (can be with the skin)
• Water
• Maple Syrup

Ingredients from our herb shop:

• Vanilla sugar

This is how you proceed:

1. Take 1 part almonds and add 2 parts water to it. (for example, I use a glass as a benchmark). Let it soak in the refrigerator overnight.

2. Then put the almonds with the water in the blender and let it blend for a while. You may have to do this in a few batches if you make more almond milk. As soon as you start blending, you will see that the almond milk turns white.

3. Once everything has been thoroughly ground, pour the mixture through a sieve. Like this.

4. Your homemade almond milk is ready. Now all that remains is to finish with a little vanilla sugar and some maple syrup. You can also replace the vanilla sugar with delicious tonka bean sugar.

Serve cold. cheers!

I am very curious about your creation! Share your homemade almond milk on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #BirgersKitchen and inspire others.
