Taylor's The Chef's Edition is an exceptional extra virgin olive oil sourced from Taylor's world-renowned Douro vineyards, including Quinta de Vargellas, Quinta de Terra Feita, and Quinta do Junco – the same estates where their legendary Vintage Ports are produced.
Among the vines grow 17 hectares of olive trees, featuring traditional Portuguese varieties such as Madural, Cordovil, Verdeal Trasmontana, Molar, and Cobrançosa. The olives are harvested by hand in November, the ideal time for maximum flavor and freshness. They are cold-pressed the same day, resulting in low acidity, full aromas, and high nutritional value.
2023 offered excellent weather conditions for olive growing, with a surprisingly high amount of natural rainfall – essential for these dry-grown olives. The result is an olive oil with a velvety texture, a wonderful spiciness, and a perfect flavor balance.
