Grande Réserve Rum 70 cl
Planteray Grande Réserve is a rum from Barbados, distilled at a distillery founded in 1893 on Brighton Beach. The blend brings together twin column rum and rum from a copper pot still hand-built in 1850. The rum first ages tropically in bourbon casks and then gets a second maturation.
Taste
Full, round and approachable, with warm notes of ripe fruit, soft spice, vanilla, caramel and a little wood.
How I serve it
- Rum old fashioned: 5 cl rum, a dash of sugar syrup, 2 to 3 dashes of bitters and ice, with orange zest.
- Rum punch: with pineapple, lime and orange juice, a little sugar syrup and bitters over ice.
- Neat: over one large ice cube.
The raffia-wrapped bottle is a nice nod to Barbados. Also available in 35 cl.
