The story behind Benromach
Benromach was founded in 1898 and is situated between the Romach Hills and Forres. Although production was initially slowed and interrupted by historical fluctuations, the distillery revived in the 1990s when Gordon & MacPhail, a family-owned company known for its unique maturation and bottling qualities, acquired and restored the distillery.
Since then, the distillery has been back in operation, producing whiskies that are both traditional and distinctive — with a smooth smokiness that was once a hallmark of Speyside, but is now rarer in the region.
