The story behind Glencadam

Glencadam Distillery was founded in 1825, when George Cooper built the distillery near Brechin. The distillery has changed hands over the decades and for a long time produced whisky primarily used in blends. However, since the 2000s, single malts have been released under its own label, allowing Glencadam to build an increasingly strong reputation as an independent Highland single malt.

The name Glencadam means "valley of the wild goose," referring to the natural environment in which the distillery is located. While the brand was long incorporated into blends—such as the classic Cream of the Barley—it is now recognized for its own single malts.
