Arran
Arran – Single malt whisky from the picturesque Isle of Arran
Arran whisky is a premium single malt Scotch whisky produced by Isle of Arran Distillers Ltd. in Lochranza on the Isle of Arran, Scotland. Founded in the 1990s and quickly recognized for its fresh, fruity style and versatile expressions, Arran has become a beloved brand among whisky enthusiasts worldwide.
The story behind Arran
Although the Isle of Arran had over 50 (mostly illegal) distilleries producing whisky in the 19th century, this long tradition was lost when the last legal distillery closed around 1837.
The modern Arran Distillery was established in 1994, and in early 1995, distillation began at Lochranza, making it the first legal whisky distillery on Arran since its closure in the 19th century.
Using pure water from Loch na Davie and traditional production methods, the distillery focuses on natural whiskies with no added colouring or artificial filtration.
In 2019, the company opened a second distillery in the south of the island, Lagg, focused on producing peated whiskies, further expanding its range.
