This is the only one of the five that is not round. The shape is an almond — wide in the middle, pointed at both ends — and it changes what you put in it. A prawn or a piece of fish follows that point by itself and lands just right.

Like the other four the glaze is reactive, so the colour comes out differently on every piece: blue, brown, grey or sea green, with gradation.

What you can do with it

• a prawn, a piece of smoked fish, a slice of terrine
• a canapé with some length to it that will not sit in a round dish
• beside a plate, for the bones or the shells

Sold one at a time, without a tray. Mix it in with the round sizes — the difference in shape is what makes a table look alive.
