Campbeltown 16Y is a Single malt from the Kilkerran distillery, matured for 16 years in bourbon barrels. The result is a clear and complex whiskey with a beautiful sweetness and soft peat.

Characteristics:
- On the nose: Initially delicate with herbal and citrus characteristics before becoming opens to reveal brighter and spicier notes with orange peel and tart lemon tart. There is also a creamy, nutty aroma that develops over time and a hint of tropical pineapple. A fleeting salty component reminds you that this is definitely a Campbeltown Single Malt.
- On the palate: The palate reveals layers of complex flavours. Grain and malt notes are present alongside soft dry peat smoke, herbs, black pepper and notes of sandalwood and beeswax. The bourbon maturation ensures that a fragrant aniseed note permeates the drink, which also gives a waxy texture to the dram.
- Finish: The dry and ashy influence of peat smoke remains, as does the deep-seated brine of the coast. Overall, this is a clear and complex whiskey that is not too sweet due to the bourbon maturation. It is fragrant, grassy and gently peated.
