Ruinart

Ruinart – Premium Champagne from the Champagne region

Ruinart is a legendary champagne house from Reims (Champagne region, France) and is considered the oldest existing champagne house in the world. Since 1729, Ruinart has stood for elegant, refined, and timeless champagne with a strong focus on quality, Chardonnay-driven finesse, and rich heritage.

The story behind Ruinart

Ruinart was founded in 1729 by Nicolas Irénée Ruinart, who wanted to realize the vision of his uncle, Dom Thierry Ruinart: a house that produces exclusively sparkling wine. Thus, Maison Ruinart was born—the first organization entirely dedicated to Champagne production and bottling.

The house is located in Reims, the heart of Champagne, where the chalky soils and ancient chalk caves (crayères) are ideal for allowing champagne to mature for a long time and evenly.

Ruinart combines tradition, elegance, and modern finesse: their champagnes are matured according to the traditional method with long yeast contacts for soft bubbles, freshness, and complex aromas.
