The story behind Merlet

Merlet began as a traditional distillery in Saint-Sauvant, where Firmin Merlet began producing cognac in 1850 in the Saintonge region of France. Over five generations, the family continued to refine the art of distillation and expanded its offerings from just cognac to fruity liqueurs and innovative spirits.

Under the leadership of Gilles Merlet and later his sons, Merlet grew into a brand that values quality and innovation as much as tradition. Today, Merlet is known not only for its cognac and Pineau des Charentes, but especially for its rich, fruity liqueurs inspired by local ingredients.
