The story behind Glendalough

Glendalough Distillery was founded in 2011 by a group of friends from Wicklow and Dublin with a shared passion for reviving Irish craft distilling. The name Glendalough means "valley of the two lakes" and refers to the famous natural and historic landscape of the Wicklow Mountains.

The brand stands for handcrafted whiskeys that are often first matured in traditional first-fill bourbon barrels and then finished in special wood types such as Japanese Mizunara, Burgundy, Calvados XO, or Madeira casks. These finishes bring additional aromas and complexity to the whiskies.

In addition to whiskey, Glendalough also produces gin and traditional Irish spirit poitín on-site, but their whiskey range remains the core of their reputation.
