The story behind Domaine Dupont
Domaine Dupont is a family home in Normandy with roots that, according to the estate, go back more than three centuries in the Pays d'Auge. The oldest known archives refer to Pierre Dupont in 1703. In 1887, Jules Dupont arrived as a tenant farmer at La Vigannerie, the old name of the current estate. In addition to livestock farming, he produced cider and calvados.
In 1980, Etienne Dupont took over the family business. He focused activities more strongly on cider and calvados, redeveloped old orchards, and went to Cognac to study double distillation techniques. That pursuit of quality and precision became an important part of the style of Domaine Dupont.
Why choose Calvados Dupont?
Calvados Dupont is ideal for those seeking a digestif with more freshness and fruit than many classic brown spirits. Calvados is made from apples, but gains great depth through distillation and aging in oak. As a result, Dupont combines ripe fruit, wood, vanilla, spices, and elegance.
The house approaches cider and calvados with the same care as wine. Apple quality, terroir, varieties, sorting, fermentation, distillation, and aging are all considered important. This makes Calvados Dupont interesting for lovers of whisky, cognac, armagnac, and fine French spirits.
