The story of Botran begins in 1940, when five brothers moved from Spain to Guatemala and founded the Botran brand there. Guatemala still forms the soul of the brand. The sugarcane grows in the green fields of Retalhuleu, the rum ages in the highlands of Quetzaltenango, and is bottled in Mixco, near Guatemala City.
