Hojicha Powder Bio - 100 g

IRO Premium Hojicha Powder is an organic roasted green tea in powder form, originating from the mountainous region of Shizuoka in Japan. Despite its brown color, Hojicha is indeed a green tea – the roasting of the leaves produces caramel, woody and cocoa notes and a pleasant, non-bitter flavor.

What makes this Hojicha exceptional is the careful selection of only the finest parts of the tea leaves from the first spring harvest – without stems, veins or leaves from later harvests. This approach results in an exceptionally fine powder of top quality, which was awarded the “Épicures d'argent” trophy in 2025, a prestigious award for the best delicacies.

With its soft, roasted taste – reminiscent of cocoa and hazelnuts – this tea is not only a pleasure for tea lovers, but also a surprising alternative for coffee drinkers.

 

Usage Tips & Recipes:

With one 100 g bag you can make approximately 50 Hojicha Lattes.

How to make a Hojicha Latte:

  1. Take 1 teaspoon (±2g) of Hojicha powder.

  2. Pour 3-5 cl of hot water (70–80°C) onto the powder.

  3. Beat with a matcha whisk or milk frother until smooth.

  4. Add warm, frothed milk (oat or vegetable milk recommended).

For an ice cold Hojicha Latte, use cold milk and serve with ice cubes.

 

Other applications:

  • Use in desserts such as ice cream, pudding, cookies, brownies or cakes.

  • Make a refreshing Hojicha tea without milk.

  • Prepare an original Hojicha Affogato.
