Since 2013, Sögne has been making thin porcelain mugs with a short message in a simple typewriter font. This one reads: a cup of survival.

The print

A nod to that first cup of the day without which nothing works. For the morning person who really isn't one.

How I use it

• Every day: the standard size for coffee, tea or a cappuccino.
• In the oven: ovenproof, so also good for a mug cake or a small crumble.
• As a gift: for a colleague on a Monday morning.
