Génépi L'Ancienne is an authentic liqueur from the French Alps, made from the rare génépi plant, an aromatic herb from the sage family that grows high in the Alps. This liqueur is deeply rooted in Alpine tradition and became particularly popular with the rise of mountain tourism and winter sports.

Génépi L'Ancienne is produced traditionally by the Distillerie des Alpes in Chambéry, following the historic recipe of founder Philibert Routin. Unique to this product is that it is distilled in a historic still dating back to 1901, which has been repurposed since 1998. This distillation process guarantees a gentle extraction of the plant, thus preserving its full and refined aromas.

The liqueur has a bright yellow colour, a floral nose, and a complex spicy profile with a long, pleasantly bitter finish.

Serving suggestion:
Enjoy it as a digestif, chilled, neat, without ice. It also makes a surprising aperitif or cocktail. Serve it in a small tasting glass to fully savor the aroma.
