Dalmore Luminary No.3 – 2025 Edition is the third creation in the exclusive Luminary Series – a celebration of creative mastery. This special 17-year-old single malt is the result of a unique collaboration between award-winning whisky maker Gregg Glass, Master Distiller Richard Paterson OBE, and architect Ben Dobbin, Senior Partner at Foster + Partners. The V&A Dundee Design Museum also contributed to this exceptional edition.
The whisky is initially matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks and then refined in a daring combination of seven different cask types, including:
-
Vintage and old Calvados
-
Rare Matusalem Sherry
-
Rare Apostoles Sherry
-
Red wine barrels from Bordeaux and Châteauneuf-du-Pape
-
Fully matured American white oak
This careful cask management produces a complex and layered whisky with an exceptional flavour profile.
Tasting notes:
- On the nose: Vibrant notes of orchard fruit, Madagascan vanilla and cinnamon, refined with soft rosewater accents.
- On the palate: Creamy butterscotch, red apples, tarte tatin, pure cocoa and liquorice, supported by spicy wood notes, cardamom, Seville orange and green tea.
- Finish: Long-lasting and elegant with dried apricots, ripe blackberries, freshly baked brioche and soft cassia bark.
Only 20,000 bottles available worldwide, so a real collector's item for the whisky lover.
