Burlanegra 70 cl

Burlanegra is no ordinary rum. It is a revolutionary expression, born from the sun-drenched soil of the Dominican Republic and refined in the heart of Spain. What makes this rum unique? A dual maturation process, a distinctive salty note and an unmistakable complexity.

The journey begins in the tropical climate of the Dominican Republic, where Burlanegra is aged for 12 months in traditional rum barrels. This gives the rum its golden color, velvety texture and aromas of vanilla and citrus.

The rum then travels to Osborne’s historic cellars in El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz, where it is matured for a further 6 months in rare VORS Amontillado 51-1 sherry casks, which had previously held sherry for over 28 years. The result? Deep intensity, complex aromas of wood, English toffee and peach, and that signature salty note.

As a finishing touch, a subtle amount of Atlantic Ocean water is added. This creates a unique, slightly salty aftertaste and makes Burlanegra the most daring rum on the market. Elegant, layered, daring.

 

Perfect Serve: For the real daredevils, Burlanegra neat or on the rocks is something everyone should try at least once in their life.

Cocktail tip:

  • 50 ml Burlanegra

  • 40 ml Chai tea (cooled)

  • 20 ml fresh lime juice

  • 15 ml vanilla syrup

  • 4 drops of cocoa bitters

Fill your shaker generously with ice. Add all ingredients and shake vigorously until your shaker is nice and cold. Double strain into an Old Fashioned glass with a large ice cube. Finish the glass with a rim of chocolate powder. Serve with a cube of lime jelly on the side or on a skewer.
