The story behind Scapegrace

Scapegrace was founded in 2014 when two brothers-in-law decided to pursue their passion for gin and create their own spirit. The brand began as a high-quality, small-batch gin project for local enthusiasts and has since grown into an internationally recognized producer of various spirits.

In 2024, Scapegrace opened a large, modern distillery in Central Otago, precisely at the 45th parallel—a unique location with extreme seasonal variations that positively influence whisky maturation.

Led by an experienced team of distillers, the brand combines handcrafted techniques, quality ingredients and creative botanicals, resulting in spirits with characterful aromas and layered flavours.
