Kilchoman
Kilchoman – The farm-to-bottle Islay single malt whisky
Kilchoman Distillery is one of the few distilleries in the world that produces whisky according to a completely artisanal concept: from its own barley field and floor malting to distillation, maturation, and bottling. Located on the rugged island of Islay (Scotland), Kilchoman produces powerful, peat-driven single malts with maritime influences and a distinctive character that whisky lovers worldwide appreciate.
The story behind Kilchoman
Kilchoman was officially opened in 2005 by Anthony Wills, with the mission to make whisky the way it was made in the old days—with as much of the process in-house as possible. This farm-to-bottle model means Kilchoman:
-
grows their own barley on their farm
-
the barley floor-malts
-
the whisky distills and
-
then matured in barrels on site before bottling
Kilchoman is located in the heart of Islay, known for its sea-breeze-rich, salty, and peat influences — something that resonates deeply in the flavour profiles of their drams.
Why choose Kilchoman?
-
Fully integrated production process (farm to bottle) — unique in the modern whisky world.
-

-
Strong maritime aromas due to Islay's rugged Atlantic coast.
-

Kilchoman combines tradition, craftsmanship, and terroir — resulting in whiskies that are not only powerful and smoky, but also offer a nuanced spectrum of spice, peat, fruit, and salt notes.
