Glendronach
The Glendronach – Highland single malt whisky with deep sherry maturation
The Glendronach is an iconic Highland single malt Scotch whisky from Forgue, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, known for its rich, complex character and intensive maturation in Spanish sherry casks—particularly Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso casks—resulting in deep fruit, nut and spice aromas.
The story behind The Glendronach
The Glendronach Distillery was founded in 1826 by James Allardice and is one of Scotland's oldest operating whisky distilleries. The name Glendronach means "valley of the brambles" in Scottish Gaelic—a nod to the landscape in which the distillery is nestled.
Since its founding, the distillery has undergone several periods of ownership changes and stagnation, but its core principles of tradition and quality have always been preserved. Production resumed in 2002 after a temporary closure, and since 2016, The Glendronach has been part of Brown-Forman, further expanding its international reach and collections.
