Named after King Alfonso XIII of Spain, this Oloroso pays tribute to both the royal grandeur and the age-old traditions of the González Byass sherry house, founded in 1835. Made exclusively from Palomino Fino grapes, this wine is aged oxidatively, resulting in a deep, complex flavour structure without a flor layer.
The colour is a beautiful warm golden to amber hue that sparkles elegantly in the glass. This dry sherry is not enhanced with sweetness, allowing its strength and purity to fully express itself.
Tasting notes:
- On the nose: Intense and layered bouquet with notes of fresh hazelnuts, walnuts and almonds – typical characteristics of ripe Palomino.
- In the mouth: Full and powerful, with pronounced notes of roasted nuts, dried fruit and wood.
- Finish: The long, dry finish contains subtle accents of oak and a hint of spiciness. An elegant wine with depth and warmth.
Serving tips & Food pairing:
This dry Oloroso is an excellent accompaniment to game dishes, mature cheeses or even roasted red meat. Also delicious with dishes with mushrooms, Iberian ham or stews.
